Hi.

I'm Sarah, a Seattle- based writer, artist, yogi, dog-lover and outspoken feminist. I like books, wine, and gray days. Hope you'll stay and hang out for a while!

Summer nights

The days are getting shorter. The people of Seattle are wistful. Here in the tippity-top of the of Pacific Northwest, summer is all about sunshine till ten o'clock and later, and barely a drop of rain from July to October. We bask. We boat. We camp and hike and cook outdoors. We complain when the temperature gets above 85 degrees and remind everyone else in the country that we have no air conditioning. We wear shorts and skirts that reveal our vampire-white skin, and we swim and float in frigid water because SUMMER. It's glorious, and no matter how much I love winter (and I really, really do love winter) and fall, it's hard to say goodbye to those magically long days. I'm hoping to squeeze in a few last drops of magical summer before fall arrives - maybe some camping, maybe a beach day/bonfire, maybe some good time spent on my porch watching the sun set over the mountains...
